Living Life to the Fullest

by Sis. Apple Arco

Hemingway in 1939

Ernest Hemingway once said that we should live life to the fullest.
I used to believe that we really should, because it’s the only way to be truly happy.
Not until I discovered a more meaningful way to walk and run and crawl the long or short course of this life that had been given to us.

Clearly, Mr. Hemingway didn’t say that to live life to the fullest, is to do what we want to do with our lives, even if it means tearing it apart.

I noticed, that some people, even in the olden days, had been preposterous to think that they should live life the way they want it even if it means hurting other people, or making the people around them suffer. As long as they get satisfaction from it, go on ahead, do it. Just as long as it will give them happiness, it doesn’t matter whoever or whatever gets thrashed.

On the contrary, I think that “to the fullest” means to live life meaningfully, in a more noble way.

from www.kamanggagawa.org

-to give back, when you receive blessings, and even if you don’t – just to unconditionally GIVE.
-to love people and accept them however cruel some can get.
-to forgive those who have hurt us no matter how deep the inflicted wound had been.
-to be sensitive of others people’s feelings, and be considerate of their needs.
-to persistently teach what’s hard to learn.
-to never lose hope on some people who already lost hope.
-to break bad habits for the sake of your soul.
-to sacrifice some of your happiness because it will make another person’s life easier.
-to be more accepting and caring, and not dwelling in your hatred or bitterness or jealousy or greed.
-to remember to appreciate good things done to you, and thank God for them.
-to pray for the people who hates you and wants to pull you down, that may God bless them no matter how bad they are to you.

Yet, it is hard to give your other cheek, isn’t it?

But i think this is living life to the fullest.

I do not mean to preach, but, I see myself yearning for others to understand that to live life to the fullest doesn’t mean to live however way you want to, for your convenience, for your comfort, for your well-being alone, so that you can become successful, famous, popular and all that. because, what we “want” can sometimes give us the most painful suffering, or the most painful outcome.

As is written in Ecclesiastes 12:13 — “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man”, after learning what the commandments (doctrines of Christ) are, and loving His words, I knew that this is the ONLY way to live life to the fullest.

Once you’ve learnt what God wants us to do with our lives, I’m sure you will understand why I said this is living life to the fullest. His words are powerful but nevertheless, loving and unselfish. I think that we, His children, must live this way. By fearing God, and keeping His commandments. After all, our life is His.

I don’t believe that life on Earth sprouted like soybean, or that people came from apes, or that there was a big confusion with matters that it accidentally broiled life.

The way my body works, the way my face breaks when I’m about to cry and how everything in nature seem to be in harmony with each other, I have always believed that Someone powerful must be the reason behind all these, things that we see and don’t see. And this Someone breathed life in all of us so that we may serve Him and enjoy the fruits of an eternal life come the moment of truth.

Serving Him, is part of living life to the fullest.

I do not own my life. so I am careful not to live it as if I can get it back anytime, once gone.

**************************************************

If you’re wondering why I wrote this, I believe it is part of my duty to encourage people to listen to God’s words, so that life on this Earth will be more meaningful and fulfilling to live.
And once His words are etched in your being, there’s this warmth inside you that makes you want to say “THANK YOU, GOD!” every single second of your life.

THE YOUTH CALLS OUT: WE ARE REGISTERED. HOW ABOUT YOU?

MAGPAREHISTRO NA

Everyone just go crazy about this very exciting registration happening. Lots of youth all over the nation have finally signed in their names in their corresponding municipalities. There are still some who are not yet on the list but are about to accomplish theirs as soon as possible time.

The last date for voter’s registration is on Saturday, October 31, 2009, but they cannot afford to wait for that deadline. Deadline is dead line. Better that everyone is registered NOW or two weeks before the said date; free from hassles and anxiety.

Registering to vote is the initial step if we aspire for a better society. This kind of preparation may test one’s endurance and patience. But that’s not a big deal! With the strength and juvenileness of the youth, it can always be as effortless as falling in line for an ice cream!

But sometimes, ice cream on hand may spill if not held properly. Upon talking to some of the newly registered youth, the very common trouble appeared: Lost Claim Stub. Please take good care of the item once we have it. It maybe just a piece of paper but remember that it is our registration identification; like a thread that when weaved together perfectly with other strands creates a good dress; like a consolidated votes that would carry us to a better future.

Anyway, as part of the registration fever, the registered youth have made an adaptation tune to invite everyone to register (as early as possible!). Have fun listening to it.

Music: Song Adaptation of Nobody by the Wondergirls entitled (We Are Registered) How About You?
Lyrics: Sis. Apple Arco and Bro. Arcon Agbuya

Chorus I:
Nakarehistro na ko how about you?
Nakarehistro na ko how about you?
Tara nang magparehistro, punta ng munisipyo
Wag maging nobody, Wag kang magpahuli

Stanza 1:
First requirement, dalhin valid id
Ipa-photocopy para walang worry/ Then bring your own ballpen para walang hassle
Monday to Friday, doon ay pupuwede
It starts at 8am hanggang mag-5pm

Refrain I:
Halika na, pumunta na
Dalhin buong kabarkada
Wag kalilimutan, wag pababayaan
Bumoto para sa ating bayan…

Chorus II:
We are registered oh how about you?
We are registered oh how about you?
Wag nang magpatumpik-tumpik
Punta na sa comelec
Wag maging nobody, wag kang magpahuli…
You have to register, we’re talking ‘bout you
You have to register, we’re talking ‘bout you
‘Wag nang magdalawang-isip
Deadline ay papalapit
Halina at mag-ready…
Nang hindi magipit.

Stanza II:
Kung ika’y botante Ika’y kabahagi
Ng pagbabago Sa ating gobyerno
Ito’y seryoso, tara nang parehistro
Ika’y Pilipino, kasali ka dito

Refrain II:
I-exercise karapatan
Tungkulin ng mamamayan
Boto’y importante Gamiting mabuti
Panawagan naming KKTK (Kabataan)

Chorus II:
We‘re now registered oh how about you?
We’re now registered oh how about you?
Wag nang magpatumpik-tumpik
Punta na sa comelec
Wag maging nobody, wag kang magpahuli…
You have to register, we’re talking bout you
You have to register, we’re talking bout you
Wag nang magdalawang-isip
Deadline ay papalapit
Halina at mag-ready
Nang hindi magipit

Bridge:
Masaya ang feeling (feeling)
Pag ika’y botante (‘tante)
Umaksyon na, lahat tayo
Kailangang nakarehistro…

Chorus III:
Nakarehistro na ko how about you?
We are registered oh how about you?
Tara nang magparehistro, punta na’ng munisipyo
Wag maging nobody, Wag kang magpahuli
We’re now registered oh how about you? (yes you…)
You have to register we’re talking bout you
Wag nang magpatumpik-tumpik
Punta na sa comelec
Halina at mag-ready
Nang hindi magipit

Back to the basic please, isang araw lang gagawin
Ito ay panawagan sa iyo, sa’yong di pa rehistrado
It’s like singing A,B,C,… easy as counting 1,2,3,…
Talking ‘bout nobody nobody nobody nobody
But you… you… you…

Lyrics: Let Us Celebrate

Let us celebrate this good day with gladness in our souls
Let all the youth rejoice and glorify the Lord
This day so special we sing a new song
Give thanks to our God forever more

Let us tell the world of His love and kindness
For we are sanctified by His holy Words
He filled our hearts with love and purified our souls
Now we are united in His church we are called

Come before the Lord with a joyful singing
We are blessed by His grace and the love He brings
Let’s offer unto Him our wisdom strength and love
Serve the Lord proclaiming all His works to all men

Let us celebrate this good day with gladness in our souls
Let all the youth rejoice and glorify the Lord
This day so special we sing a new song
Give thanks to our God forever more

Let us keep our faith always strong and burning
All the times of our lives fight the coming plights
Prepare a spirit clean
A soul that’s well and just
Christ is our foundation
Will works be steadfast

Let us celebrate this good day with gladness in our souls
Let all the youth rejoice and glorify the Lord
This day so special we sing a new song
Give thanks to our God forever more

Pangako’y paglilingkuran h‘wag lamang iiwanan

LET US CELEBRATE: 24 Wonderful Years of KKTK!

24th-poster

Nothing can make the KKTK rejoice than possessing their youthfulness for the glory of the Lord. On the 26th, last Saturday of September, The Kapisanan ng mga Kabataan Tungo sa Kasakdalan will exalt and praise the God Almighty in a very special Thanksgiving Presentation.

KKTK ChoirKKTK ChoirKKTK Choir
For more than 2 decades, the ministry has witnessed God’s marvelous works. From KKTK’s early time of its foundation (1985,) up to the present day when technology is fast rising, the youth servants remain steadfast in remembering their Almighty Creator.

Activities concerning faith spearheaded by Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon are the main focus of support of the organization. The youth are in the lead in terms of physical strength and numbers. Thousands of KKTK members are always on the go whenever and wherever their cooperation is needed.

The youth’s God-given skills are never wasted but improved. Each year various KKTK groups concentrating on a member’s technical talents organize annual festivals. This is not just to enhance one’s gift but also to invite those who aspire in becoming a member, thus giving importance to the special ability given by the Lord.

Charity is greatly exercised inside the Church. For 24 years, the strength of the youth has been consumed for this divine commitment. Public services and social welfare operation are diligently assisted daily by the organization through the Isang Araw Lang Campaign of Kuya Daniel Razon in UNTV, a public service television station.

This assembly of the youth is nourished primarily by the pure gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. This is the main reason of the steadfast, solid, and fast growing number of the faithful youth in the ministry, resulting to an aspiration to help the global evangelization. At present, an immense total of youth are studying in the Evangelical Ministry, wanting to help Bro Eli and Bro Daniel in spreading the Good News from the heavens to the whole world.

As the youth ministry celebrates its 24th year in the Church of God, each and every KKTK member knows that the whole organization is facing a superior duty in helping the propagation of the Truth in the Bible. May God bless the congregation of the Youth!

“Let all the youth rejoice and glorify the Lord!”

Happy 24th Anniversary Thanksgiving!

OMG – OFFICERS MUST GROW, Pampanga officers workshop pushed despite of the rain

SINDALAN, PAMPANGA- Despite heavy rains and floods, the KKTK Officers in Pampanga Division were not hindered in attending the workshop activity last September 9 entitled OFFICERS MUST GROW: A Respond to the Call of Duty.

The assembly, which started at six in the evening, was attended by more than 60 youth leaders from different districts in Pampanga, as initiated by the division officers spearheaded by KKTK Pampanga Division President Bro. Orlando Villancio.

Most of them are just starting out as officers so the event title just really suited them. In as much as the Youth Ministry grows rapidly, youth leaders should indeed grow along in handling greater responsibilities. Thus, a simple workshop was performed to them.

Attended by KKTK representatives from the National level headed by Bro. Jerico Depra, the workshop went in three parts focusing on commitment, love of duty and of following instructions. Realizations and assessment took place thereafter.

The over-all assessment came from Bro. Randy Mangiliman, the District Servant in Pampanga, emphasizing on the significance of each duty given to them by God as youth officers. This duty, which gives meaning to their existence as the Holy Scriptures state it in Acts 20:24;

But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.

For the final touches of the activity, Standard Operating Procedures were read and laid upon to each participant. Such include proper disciplinary actions and guidelines in the issuance of memorandum in case of incompliance to duties and responsibilities.

Drizzles still continued to shower as the activity concluded. But they proved that as youth officers, they are ready to respond to the call of their duty, rain or shine. This is one component of growing; like seeds on the ground, that after some sprinkles of rains, there comes a time to grow and flourish. And that is through the power of God Almighty.

A call of duty – 300 youth workers on their way

APALIT, PAMPANGA – Upon the call of Bro. Fred Cabanilla TP (Tagapangasiwang Pampook) in charge of KKTK last August 26, 2009, about 300 youth officers from National to Locale level rushed to the Bible Schooling Sessions to become Church workers on Sunday, August 30, 2009.

Bro Fred pointed out that youth officers should be church workers because they will be equipped with Biblical insights in solving problems and leading the youth in their duties in the church.

This suggestion was taken as a great challenge by our youth leaders, and as a result, majority of attendees of recently opened Bible Schooling Sessions in Apalit came from the officers of the youth in Metro Manila and nearby divisions.
